On the occasion of completing 1 year of successful governance on December 17, 2019, CM Ashok Gehlot inaugurated Nirogi Rajasthan Campaign – a testament of world-class health services with a vision to form a disease-free Rajasthan.

At one glance, it is an eclectic mix of various health measures taken by the State Govt. However, the far-ended vision of this scheme is immeasurable within a few simple words. To convey the essence of this oceanic idea CM Ashok Gehlot, said, “it was the feeling of Father of the Nation Mahatama Gandhi that every person remains disease-free and according to Gandhiji’s feeling, the State Govt. has taken a step to create a new history by running this campaign”.

Successful schemes that enrich the idea of Nirogi Rajasthan:

Free Medicine Distribution

Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Nishulk Dava Yojana that launched on October 2nd, 2011, has been recognised as one of the prime steps taken in the health sector.

Over the years, the positive effects of cost-free medicine distribution have proliferated, constructing an obstacle-free pathway for people suffering from chronic diseases. Coupled with the Free Tests scheme introduced on April 7, 2013, the Nishulk Dava Yojana has also emerged as a renaissance in the health segment.

“पहला सुख निरोगी काया” – said CM Ashok Gehlot in the 2020-2021 budget announcement. More than just an Indian proverb, it sets the cornerstone of Nirogi Rajasthan Yojana – first of the 7 resolutions taken by the State Govt.

He also said that as a part of this campaign, the state government would conduct a digital health survey of every citizen of Rajasthan. The initial phase of digital survey has been deployed with a dedicated mobile app:

Nirogi Rajasthan App (Asha) – Digital health census

- Conducts a household survey

- Performs response based, comprehensive health survey

- Follow up with beneficiaries for family planning

- Performs Adhaar card scanning for automatic demographic description

- Considers social factors that affect the health of family members

- Collects disease descriptions of all family members

- Operates CBAC form and mental health form

Food Security

The process of adding micronutrients to food is commonly known as a fortification. It is also called the enrichment of food. To tackle malnutrition, the State Govt. is regularizing the fortification of mid-day meals as an effective measure.

To expedite this process, Nirogi Rajasthan envelops the successful ‘Shuddh Ke Liye Yuddh’ campaign to direct it towards even higher goals.

This fight against adulteration of food items aims at making a healthy lifestyle a new norm in the state. Not to mention, the State Govt. is also partnering with Asha cooperatives, ANM, Anganwadi workers, and allies to establish it as a mass movement. Besides, it envisions to endow the state with well-equipped Janta Clinics.
